Microvalves for in vitro diagnostics
During an in-vitro diagnostics procedure, tiny amounts of fluid are being taken from samples in the laboratory using fully automated sampling systems. These are then mixed with reagents and the results are analysed. Microvalves control the small volumes of fluid in the samples and reagents, ideally without coming in contact with the fluids themselves. However, for this process to work the valves must be positioned as close as possible to the sampling point to ensure a high dosing accuracy.
